Artisanal mining is a type of small- scale mining operation;

Three main Coltan potential zones are identified within the Loko Hill licenses; Katanta, Kindia and Kadabi.

Artisanal coltan activity can and will generate immediate cash flow.

The company set up a community artisanal mining support department.

The department’s function will not only help mitigate the illegal activities in the license area but to plan a more organised mining style which will help mitigate the environmental issues and bring benefit to the communities by implementing a royalty system paid to the various community structures that is calculated from proceeds from the mineral sale from the area.

The company currently purchased and sold 15 tonnes of artisanal produced coltan and expects to significantly increase such monthly purchases from the artisanal support activity.
